10月14日の日曜日Bに会った。Ealing Broadwayにあるテラスが広くてスモーカー御用達のパブで飲みながら、彼は私の悩みを真摯に聞いてくれた。いわゆる華僑であり北京語・広東語・マ レーシア語・英語を話せることを強みとするITビジネスマンのアドバイスはとても現実的で参考になった。

彼は頻繁に泊まりに来ていたあの人の名前も憶えていた。キュートなジャパニーズガールの中でも特にキュートなので相当インパクトがあったのだろう。 Ealing Commonの日本食レストランに行こうということになり、彼がBMWを止めているショッピングセンターの駐車場へ向かった。そこで彼が教えてくれたのは テナントの店が次々に潰れているということだった。半年前はどの店も確かにあったはずで、彼が直前に話していたイギリスの不況をすぐに現実として見た私は とても驚いた。2人で寿司とそばを食べた後、今後お互い助け合えるし、遠くない将来いっしょに仕事をしようと話してその日は別れた。

今日私は身の危険を感じた。日本市場は811円の大幅下落で、週明けにもバブル後の最安値7607円を更新の勢い、同時に破壊的な急激さで進む円高ポンド 安（7月20日251円→10月24日149円）。給料が出ないかもしれない。BBCはイギリスの若者が初めて経験する不況だと伝えていた。街に溢れた若 い失業者が夜道で日本人を狙って襲うかもしれない。

追記（2008年11月4日）：ブログに載せたいからとこの日Bに写真を撮ってもらっていた。大手以外の店は次々と「閉店」「TO LET（テナント募集）」に。

Saw the news in ITPro about this latest 7 inch USB Monitor invented by the Korean company called Nanovision. I think that this will be a nice car pc monitor, at least it’s easy detachable from the car dashboard ;) Hope it will be able to support Linux OS too.

The entry-level UM-710 comes with 800 x 480 resolution

UM-730 includes integrated 1.3-megapixel webcam, microphone and earphone jack

The UM-750 adds touch-screen functionality.

The 7in displays will be available in the UK in early December, and will cost between £70 and £90.

Just been to the newly open Westfield Shopping Centre in London, walked in to the T-Mobile Retail Shop, and found the newly launched T-Mobile G1 with Google Android OS.

Overall the phone looks OK, thinner than my HTC TyTn II but thicker than my the other 16GB iPhone.

The camera somehow quite responsive and good macro.

The only disadvantage of this phone is –> SLOW!!! the responding time is almost as slow as the Windows Mobile 6. I did not say that iPhone is faster, but at least after waiting for the applications loaded, the iPhone very responsive (other than still got bugs which sometimes the app will crash)

I think I won’t buy the G1 ;)

By the way, Blackberry based phone seems like better for business use, at least the apps running fast ;)

Samsung NC10 Netbook

Among all the hot netbook in the market now, I found that the Samsung NC10 Netbook comes with the most competitive specifications and also, a good price. The NC10 comes with all the features that maybe you can not even find on an expensive laptop. The only things to disadvantages compare to expensive mobile laptop maybe just the speed of processor. I have not yet tested any Intel Atom based computer yet but I believe that you do not need a super powerful processor for a laptop now a days. If I am not with my MacBook now, I definitely will get this one for travelling.

For me, netbook will be good for email, web conferencing, voip, messenger, photo organizing, music, movie (even HD) and of course, working ;)

bought this from a street shop at Hong Kong…so cool. It smells like bun too, I just worry a real mouse will eat it ;) cost around HK$20 (RM10 / £1.50)

ahh, by the way, this bun image was took by my old Fuji F31 camera with the new PHOTO TENT I bought. This is a test shot and the results is GOOD. I use photoshop to cut off some extra shadow easily.

I can’t find cheap and good photo tent for products shooting in Hong Kong or Malaysia (actually Poon Photo at Ipoh may have one but sold, so I am not sure is that the same tent?)
